Licensed Professional Counseling
What is an LPC?
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is a mental health professional who has completed graduate-level education, supervised clinical training, and state licensure requirements to provide professional counseling services.
At Riverbase Counseling, therapy is designed to provide a comfortable, supportive space where clients can talk openly about what they are experiencing, identify concerns, develop practical skills, and work toward meaningful goals.
When might counseling be helpful?
You do not have to wait until life feels overwhelming to ask for support. Counseling may be helpful when you or someone you care about is experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulty managing emotions, behavioral concerns, family or relationship stress, school difficulties, major life changes, or simply feels stuck and unsure what to do next.
Sometimes people seek counseling because something is clearly wrong. Other times, they simply recognize that something could be better.
What happens next?
Services typically begin with a mental health assessment. This gives the therapist and client an opportunity to better understand current concerns, strengths, needs, and goals and determine together what services may be most helpful.
At Riverbase Counseling, our goal is to help you understand where you are, determine where you want to go, and build the skills you need to navigate whatever may be around the bend.
